A complete listing of sheriff’s sales can be found by visiting the Paulding County Sheriff’s website at: www.pauldingohsheriff.com. They also are listed weekly in The West Bend news. Sheriff’s sales are conducted in the Paulding County Court House. If you are purchasing a property that has been foreclosed on by a bank or some other lending company, you must pay 10% down on the day of the sale. The balance is due when the deed is completed. If you are purchasing property that is being sold for back taxes, the full amount of the sale price including advertising and court costs, is due the day of the sale. The taxes assessed and owed as of the date of the sale will be the responsibility of the seller and paid from the sale proceeds. Taxes assessed and due after the sale, keeping in mind that real estate taxes are always one year behind, will be the responsibility of the buyer.
