Can I make a partial payment?

Yes you can. Payments may be made any time for any amount, but the full amount will need to be paid by the due date to avoid penalties on the unpaid balance.

 

When are real property tax bills mailed and payments due?

We normally mail out each half tax bill approximately a month before the due date. First half is due in February and second half comes due in July. If you pay for the full year in February, you will not receive a statement/bill for the July due date.

 

Do you accept postmarks?

Yes, we will consider a payment on time if the envelope is postmarked on or before the tax due date.

 

What types of payment methods do you accept?

We will accept a check or money order via mail or in the office. We do have a third party debit/credit card machine that we can use when people come in to pay in office only. The third party does charge a small fee for both credit and debit charges. If you choose to use a credit/debit card there is a 2.95% charge, with a minimum of $3.95. When choosing to pay by e-check there is a flat fee of $3.95. We do not accept any type of payment over the phone.

 

Do you offer payment plans?

We do offer a Taxpayer Escrow Prepayment program which allows property owners to budget ahead for future taxes. The first half year tax is divided into 5 payments, and the first 4 payments will be made by coupon. The second half tax is divided into 4 payments, and the first 3 payments will be made by coupon. The last payment will be made from your tax bill showing the half year tax less your payments and balance due. There are no payments due for the months of December or June because those are the months we prepare the tax bill for the final payment. The cycle for the first half tax due early February starts in August and the cycle for the second half year tax due in July starts in February.

 

First half tax payment months- August, September, October, and November with the final payment being your February tax bill.

Second half tax payment months- March, April, and May with the final payment being your July tax bill.

 

I never received my tax bill, what do I do?

You should contact our office @ 419-399-8280. We will verify your mailing address and mail a new bill out to you.

 

What happens if I miss a payment?

A penalty of 5% will be added to your amount past due for the first 10 days after the due date. After the 10 days are up, a 10% penalty will be added to the amount due.
